sorry...but i'm probably going to take the spot. Emory is a great school and its probably where i'll end up. Good financial aid too....

ok good :) i would agree with you.

(sorry for attacking haha i think i was in a bad mood)

I got waitlisted too...
1310 SAT I, havn't give SAT II...

didn't order the video nor did i visit the campus... so i was surprised that i didn't get outright rejected...
ah well... i am accepting the spot... doubt i'll end up getting admitted though...
any idea what percentage are accepted off the waitlist???

btw, word has it there are about 7-8 hundred people on the wait list

Waitlisted

1480 SATI
700w/740span/730IIC satIIs
4.214w/3.8uw
lots of ec's.

didn't watch vid or visit campus.... even though i live in GA.. arrgh.

Does any waitlisted considering Oxford @ Emory and transfer out after the 1st year?

i think you have to stay at oxford for 2 years and then you can go on to Emory. but even so, they still put "oxford" on your transcript next to emory when you graduate.

i'm definitely not considering oxford though. their standards are too low and i've heard oxford kids get shunned by emory kids.

Emory accepts almost zero Oxford transfers after one year.

I don't know if you guys know this but Emory/ WUSTL/ Rice are the most flagarant abusers of yield management. They will waitlist 1500s all day long who use them as safeties. Then they wait to see who is serious and let them in. Its a strategy that inflates their data (and a good one).

Also, these three bump up interest through full ride and national merit scholarships. It gets the 1500 SAT kids applying, and they learn about the school.

I have to disagree with you about Rice. Rice's SAT range is MUCH higher than those of Emory and WUSTL. In fact they are more liely to accept 1500s than 1300s. Although, true interest is important. But yeah I was waitlisted at WUSTL and I'm bitter as hell lol

WUSTL? What college is this?

wash u st louis i imagine

ok. I didn't know that.
Oh, bluedaisy1234, do you know where are you planning to attend?
