<p>Last year, Columbia College admitted 29 out of 1647 waitlisted students. SEAS admitted 16 out of 608.</p>

that is where the numbers come from however it means that 16 were admitted from the wait list not 16 from a wait list of 608. 608 is the complete class of SEAS 2011. the same goes for the other numbers.</p>
