Waitlist

I got wait listed at UNC-Ch. I am instate and live close to campus. I asked one of the directors if i could meet with him and discuss my application and other questions i have. Anyone have any idea on what i should ask him and talk to him about? I want to express my desire to attend the university, but not sound nagging and annoying at the same time.

I think it is a great idea....impress him/her....I would focus on why UNC is the right school for you and not jsut because it is convenient. Why you are right for UNC....what will you bring to UNC that they need. DOn't take a lot of his/her time. If you want the answer ask for an honest assessment of your chances....

another question is about financial aid. i applied for financial aid but i thought it had no effect on admission. I don't want financial aid to be a factor in deciding if i get in or not. Is this true or did i just hear a false rumor?

Krazer, for many schools I would not encourage a drop in visit as they don't want to be bothered until after May 5th or so with waitlisted students. But UNC is different and may actually have no problem with your visit.

Also, being IS, the FA part should not be an issue.

UNC is a need blind school. They have a BILLION dollar endowment and with the TARHEELS doing so well the trademark finances many scholarships. I assure you they will not cut you for that reason. Some others will.
