As far as I know, there is no hope for Hotchkiss, Choate, Deerfield, and
Groton if you are applying to 9th grade and have been waitlisted in those schools.

D was accepted from lawrenceville waitlist yesterday. she has mixed emotions as she loved the "other" school we were ready to commit too.
we decided to accept L offer due to reputation....D needs to get over the fact that she was waitlisted from the start. i hear only great things from L so I'm hoping we made the right choice

i'm not sure about 9th grade but 10th grade there is going to be movement at hotchkiss and andover

hotchkissjin -
How did you find out andover is going to take 10th grade? Did you call them ? Thanks.

arling-
i called and they said that they would be calling a couple kids in the upcoming weeks, like next week and on

It's ironic how people always say that you should have control over your emotions and not let other people/events have control over them yet being on a waitlist is clearly the latter case.

Ah, but you do have a good bit of control over how you react to being on the waitlist. There's no question that the situation of being on a waitlist is stressful and anxiety-producing--but your reaction to that situation is not fixed and predetermined. An emotion is an internal state and there are things you can do to keep your emotions more stable, as opposed to going up and down like a roller coaster.

Quenn is right i don't think that putting all hope on the waitlist although you can still be positive don't make it so your completely depressed if they don't choose you out of the waitlist.
