Does any know when wait-list results are decided? I have a friend who is simply dying to know

all final decisions are made by May 15th....so maybe a few days after that... I am dying to know too!

i know! i can't wait to be freed from this purgatory!

Actually my friend's son recieved a phone call last week and was offered a spot off the waitlist in the SFS. I heard that only SFS school will be taking students off waitlist.

how reliable is that information?

That sounds very sketchy.

The info I heard was from 2 different parents who have friends or relatives who are very active alum- one of which is on the board. I was reading these message boards since the fall and many of the students who were accepted early to the SFS commented on not making a decision until they heard from the ivies in April. Due to the fact tha Harvard and Princeton discontinued ED, I think many of these kids had the option of applying to GT EA. I personally know of 5 kids who were accepted but were hoping for Ivy and ended up being accepted to an ivy. I think the yield for the SFS was lower than other schools.

Has anyone heard of other students who have been accepted off of the waitlist to any of the other schools at GT?

I got THE call yesterday to confirm my interest and I OFFICIALLY GOT IN TODAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! Hope you all get the good news too!!

What school did you apply to?

They also said they were accepting between 200-300 students from the 2000 waitlisted...I believe that encompasses the entire university, not just the College

Congrats georgetownwanabe! That's amazing. I have the same question as Jeydomz, which school did you apply to? Also, How were you notified? (phone call, mail, etc.)

ahhh i just got a call from a Gtown rep asking me if I'm still interested because they're going to committee tomorrow.

o wow I wish they would call me..... GT is my ultimate first choice

yo, iflylikepaper...

did you send in any additional supplements/extra waitlist interest letter.. stuff like that after you were waitlisted?

your phone call definitely is a good sign.... anyone who gets the "confirming interest" call always gets in usually the next day..

and was it georgetown college you applied to? SFS?

I wish I would get a call too! I really want to go to Gtown as well. I applied to MSB and I did send in extra material, but I haven't gotten a call (so I don't know if that really helped or not!) Oh and which part of Gtown did you all apply to?

i stalk this website way too much; the suspense is killing me!

I hope not getting a call doesnt mean that I'm not getting in......

i applied to the college! i'm just worried because i've never visited and her phone call made it seem that if i wanted to be discussed at committee i had to be sure i was going..

dolcederonda: the suspense is killing me too!
ngkelvinsk: I feel the same way. I hope that doesn't mean that we're not being considered.
iflylikepaper: would not you take the offer if you were admitted? or do you mean that you never explicitly expressed your interest?

I cant take the waiting anymore either. I applied back in october, I've been waiting for Georgetown for over 6 months, and its finally killing me. I would be upset if I found out i wasn't accepted, but at least that feeling of closure would be better than this doubtful anticipation.

And I feel horrible that GT didn't call me. I've sent on several update letters, additional teacher recs, updated grades and ranks... i even travelled across state to meet with an admissions rep. I dont know what else more I can do,

good luck to everyone on the wait list
