All the schools I thought I had a pretty good chance I was waitlisted... i tht i had pretty good stats 93 SSAT bunch of EC's , student council, tennis, etc... bt then again.... im KOREAN

i was full pay

what should i do with my waitlists.. wait on them? my self-esteem is jst bottom low... im too proud to be a bed-filler

i have no idea what to do now, im pretty depressed, thinking i wasnt too bad, but wasnt too good.

Mate, these schools reject thousands every year. I think you should be proud not to be one of the people who made it through without being rejected, even if the waitlist situation sucks ****. Sorry man. Still though, congratz on making it through the funnel (sortof) =)

haha i actually got rejected by two schools…

what should i do, stay with the waitlist or just screw it?

man, i tht i really had a good chance at andover… i felt my interviewer really liked me now to think of it he told me he did not have a interview like this in 20 something years of his interviewing… haha, well what do you know.

Well this will sound pretentious no matter how I say it, sorry about that: there’s gonna be a bunch of kids, like me, who will say no to Andover for a school like Exeter or wherever. Can it really hurt that much to stay on atleast for like a month? Many other won’t be offered enough FA to go so will have to decline as well. I’d definitely wait a little before coming off the waitlist. Gl!

Call and write the Head Admin guy at the school you got waitlisted at that you would go to if accepted. Tell him/her that you will write the check the next day if accepted. It couldn’t hurt.

you can write letters to the schools telling them how much you want to go to that school.
your parents could do the same.
you could also send in some of your grades from this year and let them know about a few new accomplishments if you have any.
oh, and you COULD get another recommendation.

Freshie,
Don’t give up yet!! You’re obviously a strong candidate if you got waitlisted at all those great schools. Stay on the waitlists of all of them and lobby hard to get into your favorite(s) or the one(s) you think you have the best chance at. If you do eventually get into one, you will soon forget all of the unhappiness you are feeling now. Go for it!

freshie, i totally relate to how you feel. don’t give up on the waitlist, but if you are determined to go to school here, then enroll at the one you got accepted to.

i think you’ll get off the waitlist.
defintiely. especially since you dont need FA.
it wouldnt hurt to call them and tell them you dont need FA and that this means a lot to you and stuff like that.
its actually a pretty known fact if you show interest, it pleases the school.
i just dont know if its true.

hey, can you please tell me what a waitlist letter says for andover?

Getting off the waitlist isn’t the most common thing in the world, but it’s definitely not impossible. I know a couple people who go here (Andover) that have gotten off the waitlist. Don’t give up; try hard and show that you’re still interested. Good luck!
