Waitlist?

^ Actually there really isn't anything else. He is in my first period block and is at my lunch table. He shares it all. He logged into Collegeboard to show me his scores and when the school was releasing "unoffical copies" of transcripts, he showed me his.

And since first period is a writing class, I got was one of the people to peer edit his essays.

Chris2k5..mind if I ask how long ago you applied to SUNY Stonybrook?
Because I submitted my appication and other materials needed in December and the supplemental application sometime in the beginning of January and I still haven't heard from them at all.
I actually called their admissions office a few days ago to ask about the status of my application and the lady who was speaking to me was kind of rude about it, telling me that application statuses (spelling?) are sent out in the mail and that if I'm missing anything I'll be contacted through the mail. If not, then they'll just mail out the notification.
What she said doesn't seem rude but the way she said it did. She sounded annoyed... as if I was supposed to know that they don't want you calling in for that. I'm dealing with other schools as well..how am I supposed to know how SB specifically works?

^ I had everything in November 1st.

And I KNOW! That lady that answers the phone is SOOO rude. I cannot believe she still has her job! She yelled at me back in December when I called in. I guess that is what the U.S.'s workforce has become.

^ Oh Ok. So, maybe that's why I'm still waiting for my notification letter. You send your stuff in way before me.
But you're right that lady that answers the phone IS rude. She didn't yell at me but she was rude and it p***ed me off that she was rude for no apparent reason. Is she the only person that answers the phone there or something? Because if she is then that's a bad thing.

No, the rudeness is what happens at a school that knows it is bargain, becuase of taxpayer dollars, and then can be rude, but wants "autonmony"

haha Maybe the lady over the phone is just mean when she's on the phone. I met both the receptionists from the Admissions and the Transfer office when I went to SB two weeks ago, and they were both really nice to me.

Not to mention she must have a thousand phone calls a day about the same thing; which doesn't really justify it, but whatever.

On Monday, everyone in this thread should call. You will definately get that lady. I assume she is the only one that answers the phone because Stony Brook can't afford anymore people.

:( They couldn't at least get someone with manners? It seems like she has a bad day EVERY single day...

I called a lot of other schools and they treat applicants like kings and queens while this particular lady treats people like garbage.

:) Maybe Stony Brook is just that depressing? :(

I know that woman, she's always like that...i will definatelty call them tomorrow if i don't receive any letter from them

i got wait-listed too :[...do you think i should write a letter to stony brook?or would i be better off if i just waited?
