Has anyone been admitted off of the waitlist?

I guess no one has heard anything from the WL yet?

I called Colgate yesterday to ask them when we would be notified - they said sometime next week. However, they also said that it looked like they would not be taking people off the waitlist. But it’s not over until we get the letters, so i guess there’s still a little bit of hope…

Disappointing… Son was most likely not considering anyway, it was his 3rd choice of 3 schools… But would have been nice to have the option to consider it.

Yes, I was at Colgate the other day for a visit. After speaking to someone in the alumni office, it sounded like Colgate may not go to the waitlist because they really don’t want to force people to triple up in one of their dorms as it has happened before and created a bit of a mess among the students.

I’m so sorry to those who are hoping to get off the waitlist but try to make the most of your experience at your chosen school. You can always transfer later on if you decide that Colgate is still for you.

here is a thought:

go to several of the waitlist kids and ask them if they wouldn’t mind rooming in a triple freshman year if they were admitted…

let them have the choice…

I would imagine that for several, even four students per room would be ok, provided that they get to attend such a great insititution as Colgate.

Colgate was oversubscribed this year. They will not be taking any from the wait list.

confirmed: “as of today, we do not plan to enroll any students off the waitlist for the Class of 2014”
