Any waitlisted people hear any news this week.

Nada, Wouldnt get your hopes up either they are just swamped this year from the looks of it. Imagine they accept 1000 people to CBS which is around the number if I remember. They only expect 300 or so to accept. That means for you to be considered off waitlist over 700 people need to say they are not attending, and this applys to all colleges at the U. So being realistic I would give on going there this fall, I have

Actually I got off the waitlist last year. Just curious how others were doing this year. I wrote a letter to admissions a couple days after May 1st saying I was still interested and if accepted I would go. About a week later I got accepted. A couple of others from my highschool also did the same and also got of the waitlist. So if you want to go make sure to tell them.

I didn’t even do anything after I got waitlisted and one day, I got an email telling me I was admitted. But unfortunately I couldn’t go, and now I’m trying for this fall to get back in and once again got waitlisted, I’m hoping for similar results. By the way, out of curiosity, are you guys transfers or freshman?

ah sorry for my idiocacy, and thanks for the tip. I’m a freshman Matt430, where did you go this past year and also any tips for when and how you applied for spring?

I actually didn’t go anywhere, I had some family issues and I wasn’t able to go to school at the time. In retrospect, I should’ve probably told the U that and asked if I could get it on hold or something. Anyways, I’m not really sure of tips but I applied about a week before the priority deadline. I think I just got lucky though that maybe there were less applicants in the Spring. But now for the fall, I was told to write a statement on my intentions (I’ve switched my major a few times so I look pretty indecisive to them) and to call back sometime this week to see if they have a better idea of what their admissions are looking like. Anyways, good luck to you guys in getting off the waitlist.

I got accepted off the waitlist on May 25th. Still not sure if I’ll attend, as I didn’t fill out housing until yesterday and I don’t think off campus housing will be an option form me! Good luck to everyone else…

Hey, I had two friends last year that did not apply for housing until after they got in off the waitlist. Although they did not find out until August they did both get housing, it was on the St. Paul campus but still housing.

Found out on May 28th. Pretty excited about it, as I wasn’t entirely sure I’d be able to get back in this time.

Congratz to the both of you for getting in. A couple of my friends got in also last week. Sadly I didnt hear anything, so I guess that means I didnt even make the 2nd batch of people that were accepted. I hope you guys have a good time next year. Enjoy it for the both of us.

Sorry to hear that man, have you tried calling them at all? I’ve heard that can help, or at the very least you can get an idea of how you stand. Anyways, good luck.

ah man Ive tried everything, looked online for tips, here for tips, done everything. I am going to do one more thing that I really didn’t want to do but it was always there as a ultimatum (purely final option). Ill see how that plays out. A couple of my friends that got accepted last week are not going and have said they will call in and cancel their acceptance and mention me, so mabey that will do something. We shall see.

edit- I tried calling to see where I stood on the list but it seems there are 2 different divisions that handle the applications at the U, those that actually look at the applications and update the online tracker, and those that talk to us. When I called they just checked my online tracker and didnt know really anything else about my position in the line.

Well hopefully it works out for you, did you send in your most recent grades? (If you’re a transfer) Also, a friend of mine called the college he was applying to and asked to speak with a counselor and they were able to give him suggestions on how to improve his standings.

Anyways, like I said before, good luck with wherever you decide to go, if it’s still the U, try again next semester.

I am very excited to even be accepted. Right now I’m enrolled at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and am going to continue with enrollment things there until I’m FOR SURE with the U. I really want to go to Minnesota, and I really have no preference about dorms, etc. I just don’t think apartment hunting is a possible option, especially now. I’ve gotten lucky thus far, so maybe my hard work and patience will pay off! Stay positive though, if you haven’t heard back…you never know! I was expecting nothing at all and now I’m in!

Hey man ive stayed positive for the last 4 months another couple days isnt gonna kill me. Like I said I know a couple friends with scores similar to mine that were accepted and are not going so mabey ill hear later this week (hopefully)

Accepted as of Thursday. They called to tell me which was awkward since I’d actually forgotten I even applied here. Declined the acceptance on the spot, so it’s not over yet…

what time did they call you?

I’m excited to say that I will officially be attending UMN next fall. Received my housing guarentee via e-mail this morning. Kind of surprised, as I turned in my paperwork almost a month late, and was expecting to have to attend UW-La Crosse. YAY!!!

^^
GoBucky why aren’t you going to UW-Madison? jw.

My home state didn’t want me ha…I got put on the extended waitlist at UW.
