I class I want is waitlisted and if I add myself to the waitlist, I'd be number 1. Should I put myself on the waitlist? Do I have a good chance of getting into the class...actually, can someone explain how the whole waitlist thing works also please?

yea u'd get in. if someone drops the class then u're in. also talk to the prof about it cuz he might let in an extra person. but just cuz he/she says u're in the class doesnt mean that UCLA will recognize it. in the end the enrollment must show up on URSA

okay thank you, i put myself on the waitlist, i'm 1 out of 1.

for most lower-division classes, someone's bound to drop the class. so being on the waitlist is a good thing, because you'll get in (automatically?) as soon as someone drops. but this needs to happen by week 2 i think.

another alternative is to personally talk to the professor and ask for "PTE Number," which overrides the class cap and lets you officially enroll into the class. you can mention that you're #1 on the waitlist and that you're really interested to take the class, etc.

^ okay, i'm kinda confused. i'm waitlisted for the lecture and discussion for the class, if I were to ask for a pte number, do i need to ask both the professor of the class and the TA for the discussion for one?

no, the professor will only need to give one PTE number. that enrolls you into the discussion section, which means you're automatically enrolled into the lecture too. remember, the TA's work under the professor.

okay, thanks!
