Waitlist

When is it still practical to place yourself on the waitlist for classes? If the number of individuals enrolled+on the waitlist exceeds the maximum spots available for the class by more than 50 percent, is it still reasonable to phase 1/waitlist the class? What is the usual cutoff for determining whether you can still get the class?

Thanks for any replies.

10% rule(i.e. First 13 kids waitlisted should get into a class that has 130 students in it)

There are some exceptions tho, like math classes where ppl tend to drop them more frequently.

What class is this?

Thanks for all the answers; it’s German R5A.

Just a quick tip, but most of the the R5A-B is open enrollment for freshman. So even if there are waitlists, if there are open seats you’re good (if you’re a freshman).

For example one of the classes has 5 on the waitlist and 4 open seats. The only way those people will not get in off the waitlist is if 13 freshman sign up for this class.

I figured this out when there was 1 spot open (10 on the waitlist) and I was automatically enrolled (Pretty sweet feeling).
