Waitlisted - 2014

I was one of the applicants who did not receive an email so I called the admissions office and found out that I was waitlisted.

For those of you who were waitlisted and did receive an email: Was there a link in the email that allowed you to accept your spot on the waitlist?

Since I never received my email, I am wondering how to let Harvard know that I would like to accept my spot on the wait-list.

^ I hope this helps

congrats/sorry about the waitlist.

How active should you be though? I talked to a few people, and all of them advocated keeping a lower profile and only updating if you earn large awards. This included a person that currently attends Harvard and worked in Admissions…

I was also waitlisted at Harvard, along with waitlists at Yale, Princeton, Brown, and Columbia. I did get into Penn, Cornell, and Hopkins though!

Waitlisted to Harvard Brown and Uchicago; i’m still glad they saw something in me.

Congrats, 2014ss. As OldBatsieDoc says, WL means you were good enough, just unlucky. Are you accepting your spots or going somewhere else?

I agree with the advice that you got. Harvard takes students off the waitlist to fill gaps in its entering class. Demonstrated interest isn’t important and may just annoy the admissions officers. The thicker the file, the thicker is the applicant.
