I have been waitlisted from the University of Minnesota. I have talked to my admissions counselor and my high school guidance counselor sent him and email as well for me. I have made it clear that this is my top choice school and if i get in i will go. The email was sent to him on Tuesday. I got a 22 on ACT (i know thats not great) and i have a 3.8 GPA. I also have outstanding extracurriculars. I was just wondering if i had a chance of getting off the waitlist, or if that email improved my chances. Also should I send in a waitlist appeal or should i just wait this out?
On the website it states that showing a lot of interest doesn’t help getting off the waitlist, it would have been ideal to make an appeal but the deadline for the appeal was March 1st, so at this point you’ll have to wait it out! Good luck!
You definitely have a chance of getting off the waitlist. How it goes is that the U accepted a bunch of students knowing that not all of them will attend so they waitlist a few others. Some accepted students will decline their confirmation and when the U finds out how much space they have left they will give some of the waitlisted students a chance
Just curious, have you heard anything back yet? I got waitlisted, too.
Just got in off the waitlist!!! But now i have to figure out what steps need to be taken for school i just sent enrollment confirmation to before i found out
