You made me check, again. Nothing changed
Glad that you made it, though.

All of this testing doesnāt even matter for Davis cause if you check their general ed requirements AP and IB tests no longer satisfy them starting fall 2011

haha i checked my status again too. Same D: But the undergrad admissions office wouldnāt be working so late anyways.

ehh yeah APs donāt matter too much senior year, but iām still taking the exams and hopefully will pass them all. Wait APs and IBs no longer satisfy, soā¦what is that supposed to mean, they donāt count towards college credit?

^^ You still get units, which I assume means better registration time.

Really?!?!? I took them to save money once Iām in college, though. Theyāre interesting but still, you have to PAY for these tests.

so glad ap and ib test donāt mean much! iām dreading tomorrows ap calculus ab test and my ib spanish a2 in two weeks!

Accepted off the waitlist
Major: NPB (Neurobiology)
Department: College of Biological Sciences
UC GPA : Somewhere around a 3.4
SAT: 2160
Essays: Most likely what got me in.
Thought Iād post to give everyone some hopeā¦
So whatās this about AP Tests not counting?

Donāt tell me I suffered through the AP Spanish language test for nothing, lol!

Shinebrighter1, I feel like you may be my doppelgangerā¦no joke, identical EVERYTHING.
3.4 UC GPA
32 ACT = 2160 SAT
Major? Neurobiology (except was suppose to be neuroscience, give it a semester haha)
Prob reason I got in? Essays

:D

Laurennn123: No way!
I took the ACT as well as the SAT and scored a 32! Freakyā¦

So are you gonna accept the offer?

āStudents may not present Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate credit in satisfaction of GE requirements.ā from the new revised general ed requirements starting 2011

You may still get credit, but you donāt get out of any classes

Anybody know how many waves of acceptances from the waitlist have gone out?
Anybody get rejected from the waitlist yet?

Just to clarify - your credits can still count towards unrestricted electives. Like if your major has 100 units of required courses (including GE), but you need 118 overall, you can count your AP credits towards those additional 18. My particular major (ME) doesnāt have any of that wiggle room, so they will just count towards getting earlier registration times. They would also count towards your grade level standing, so if you have enough you might be considered upper division during your sophomore year. Donāt know if that is good for anything or not.

@YG2015: I havenāt seen any rejections yet. But I think those will come out last because that tends to be the case. So far I think there has been 1 wave, or so it seems. People who got accepted yesterday have until Friday to reply. Then according to how many accept/reject the offer, another wave will probably come next week. Iām not sure when theyāre stopping the notifications though. Good luck to everyone waiting! :)

@shinebrighter1, of course :D

All of these acceptances are scaring the crap out of me because Iām not one of them!!!

Soā¦ 6000 offered waitlist. 2000 said yes, and now theyāll accept about 700 of the students?

Assume about half of the first wave students said yes. So only 350 spots remainā¦ for the 2nd rounders.

Probably more than half this year, because of the budget crisis, people donāt get in to other schools. Soā¦ 200 spots left?

i still dont get why they waitlisted MORE people this year. last year it was 5000 and like 1600 people accepted the offer, obviously less than half consistently accept the waitlist proposal offer, so why up it this year?

blaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh and how do u know 2000 accepted?

man i want in soooo badddd, i hope everyone here who wants in horribly gets in!!
