any word on movement at CCPA?

Redirected here from BW as well…hoping for happier news from @MTRaleighmom . Closure is a good thing. Down to the final decision making here too. We are not going to move forward with NYU Steinhardt since without talent money it is not in our reach financially.
I’m not sure that I’ve ever heard of schools rejecting kids who have been placed on a waitlist. Do you mean that they have closed their waitlist because their class is full?
@alwaysamom - they just let them know that they have filled the class and won’t be going to the wait list anymore - this happened to my D at a different school last year. As disappointing as it is to find out you aren’t coming off the wait list - it also is liberating - because it helps you toward that final decision. I appreciate the schools that do this, instead of leaving the kids in eternal limbo.
@alwaysamom - D was not rejected from the school, just told there would not be room in the BFA MT program for her. She was offered a redirection to another major (BA in theater or arts management or whatever). @kategrizz is right, as disappointed as she was, it was better to be out of limbo and able to move on and embrace the options that she has, which are great ones. As long as that carrot was dangling out there, it was hard for her to move forward. Now she can do that and decide where her ultimate “right fit” place will be.

kategrizz which school told your D last year that the waitlist was closed?
@bwaybaby97 TSU - it was in late April after they filled their incoming class.
What does it mean for those who are still on the Baldwin Wallace waitlist? BW is one of my daughters top choices and she did not get the redirection letter. Does anyone know, from last year, when they make their final choices? So nerve wracking!
@rittlette - if I were you, I’d have your daughter reach out to the conservatory and ask!
Same redirection as @gingersnap97 offered another major. Being released was extremely liberating! Of course S was disappointed but even I was surprised how little time it took for the clouds to lift. That WL was really holding him back more then he realized. Now that he has to make a decision between the two options he held onto, he is getting excited about each and having trouble choosing a favorite.
@rittlette - S was not released from BW’s wait list until after May 1 last year. It was also one of his top choices, but prior to May 1 he had pretty much decided on the program he is at now. Happy as a pig in slops.
