My daughter was waitlisted. Pepperdine is her dream. Any advise on what can be done to infuence. Also do they seriously wait until June!

I would assume they will start looking at the wait list in early May. They have a strict May 1st deadline to respond and pay $750 for those admitted.

Thanks, I would think May too, but the letter reads June 1st, but the their original notifcation deadline was April 1 and we were notified 3/24, so we are hoping we hear before 6/1. My daughter is going to contact her admission counselor and see if he can shed any light. She is very determined, she actually will enter as a sophomore. Had a really bad first semester experience at a state college and wants to return to a small faith centered school. Congrats by the way, hope to be a PepperMom soon!

You can actually submit other materials that will try to "convince" Pepperdine to accept someone on the waitlist. Many people have told me that you can write a personal letter explaining why Pepperdine is the school for you or you can even send in more teacher recs, church service hours, etc. However, I do not know how much is "too" much, but I do not think bombarding the admissions office with recs and awards would do the trick lol. Perhaps maybe a personal letter from your daughter and another teacher rec, perhaps from someone involved within the church (that is, if your daughter is religious) since pepperdine places great emphasis on this factor. Hope I helped!

Thanks Gauccho8 we have sent updated grades, composing a letter and she has contacted a couple of teachers for additional recs. Our pastor is also making some calls! She has bee in touch with the admssions counselor, so we will see!

Anybody else out there who was waitlisted last year or this year with any insight?

I've been waitlisted this year and have just sent in a letter explaining my continued interest in Pepperdine University.

Did the same thing.
