My d was waitlisted. What are the chances of being accepted? What is the process?

If you don’t take action, 0. Call and call again. If she wants to go, she can go.

about how I got in off the wait list. Might help. Good luck!

kherb: since you are a parent, I will respond; the only people I personally know who were accepted off of a Wash U waitlist over the past few years are:

1) full pay; apparently anyone who needs FA is not even considered off the waitlist because they want an immediate decision as to whether or not you will attend…FA people have to wait for their packages…
Wash U wants an immediate decision (or a couple of days or something) so that they can use the waitlist admits as 100% yield decisions (like an ED)…that boosts their yield

2) the students I know that were accepted off the waitlist also had someone at their schools advocating for their acceptance; either a guidance counselor or a high administrative official…

3) if Wash U is NOT a student’s #1 school, and one is not going to accept the offer unconditionally, don’t even bother accepting a spot…

I think that two years ago, the phone call went like this…“if you were offered a spot, would you be 100% sure you would attend”…if one said yes, they received an offer a couple of days later and had to respond with a deposit almost immediately…
