Hey Guys my Spire just Changed to Waitlisted 
status and I REALLY wanna go to UMass. Do you guys know when the waitlisted students get picked? Because I know May1st is the deadline for choosing a school and I don’t want risk waiting for UMass just to be rejected in the end.
What do you guys thin I should do? I have a few other schools I have been considering but I just don’t now anymore when it comes to UMass.
My son was also waitlisted. The FAQs said they start letting students know by mid-May. It seems that only a small number of waitlisted students get admitted for the fall, but you are definitely in for spring. One option is to take classes (that will transfer) at a CC. You should definitely read the FAqs that are linked to from Spire. Good Luck!

“Please note that admission to the spring semester is a general offer of admission only. This means that waitlisted students admitted for spring will not be admitted to a selective major.” This means you have to go thru the on campus transfer process once you are enrolled.
Specifically - Students who were waitlisted and then admitted for the spring semester will not be admitted to any of the following selective majors:
• Business majors within the Isenberg School of Management.
(Exception: students who indicated a major of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) will be admitted to that major).
• Computer Science
• Engineering
• Nursing
• Sport Management
I was also waitlisted today
I think I’m gonna go to UNH for fall semester and then enroll at UMass for spring semester unless I get in off the wait list for fall.
UMass is my top choice and I wanna go soooo badly.
@barcafan30 UMass is my 1st choice! I want to pick the both Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 option in the waitinglist form but I feel that they’ll just automatically put me down for 2016. So I’m thinking of Picking the Fall 2015 option only.
@Darksand99 I was worried about that too but UMass states in the waitlist FAQ’s that checking off both options will not lessen your chances of fall admission. I would just check off both because then if you don’t get in for fall you will not have the option to go at all if that’s what you decide you really want to do later on.
