Waitlisted as of March 18th

"Due to an unprecedented number of applications, we are unable to offer you admission at this time. We would, however, like to offer you a position on our waitlist. Please let us know of your interest by completing this webform: https://admissions.fsu.edu/undergradapp/WaitList.cfm.
I feel queezy. I have wanted to attend FSU my whole life and all my counselers were assuring me I would get in. I applied for the waitlist for the summer or fall term. It says I will not be notified if I am accepted until atleast May 13th. I need to send a deposit to another school by May 1st so that sucks. For anyone who knows anything about this, when should I expect to hear back and will I be contacted either way? Also, is there anything I should do other than sit back and wait?

Gahhh.

I suggest you take the waitlist spot and consider attending TCC for a time. At least you'd be in the FSU environment and social area. You could then transfer later.

Good luck!

They wait to see how many student commit to FSU. That info is not available until at least May 1, sometimes a few day later if acceptances trickle in. They need to then have time to crunch numbers. You need to send in a deposit to secure a place somewhere, and wait until after May 1. May 1 is a Friday, so I don't think they will send out offers anytime before the following week. Then, I do not know if they start asking in groups, in a rolling fashion or not.

Write a letter expressing your strong desire to attend FSU. Send in an interim transcript if you have not and it is good. Show the love so that you might hear back with an offer by May 13.

hang in there OP!

S was accepted to FSU first round and will not be attending.

(so there's 1 potential spot for you to fill!)

good luck.

Ay, I wanted to go to GT all my life, but got rejected. It's not the end of the world (though I'm less depressed about that one because I no longer have to take 3 Calc classes :P)

rsxwheeeeee- I know what you are going through. GT was my dream school this year, I was so thrilled about the chance I could go there. I was rejected a few weeks ago but now I'm so pumped about FSU.

tis weird, I wanted to go since, like age 5, until about a month ago when I read the course list for my major (Calc I, Calc II, Calc III for CS). I think I preferred the IDEA of tech (the school for smart kids in GA + Atlanta) than actual tech.

but yea, we all have to move on from stuff.
