My son was waitlisted at BC - anyone know anyone who had the same experience and then got into ND? ND was 1st choice.

BC and ND have the same admission applicants, profile, and criteria--so it is entirely possible, if not likely.

It is debated on this board, but I wouldn't say likely. ND seems to be a bit more selective overall than BC. That being said, BC did waitlist more than normal this year because of a high number of applications and a lot goes into these decisions, so I certainly wouldn't give up hope! It is possible.

Normally ND is thought to be tougher to get into, but I know a kid at Dartmouth who wasn't accepted to BC. Their admissions has gotten much more competitive within the past couple of years, so it's hard to tell.

It's nothing to fret about, though; you'll find out before long.

DE Mom, we're in the same position as you - daughter waitlisted at BC, and waiting to hear from ND. It's nerve-wracking. I'm trying to hang on to the thought that wherever they get in is where they are supposed to be.

Where in DE are you from? We used to live there.

does anyone know how many applicants nd received. Im getting waitlisted everywhere due to "dramatic increases in applications".

i heard somewhere between 11,000-12,000 which is pretty much their average

maybe slightly above but definately in range with average I would say. It certainly isn't a "massive increase" or anything like that (I don't think at least)

I applied to both BC and ND early action. I was deferred from BC but accepted ND. I was also waitlisted at BC but accepted to ND early. Couldn't figure this one out. You're son definitely has a chance. These days college acceptances are so circumstantial. Nothing is certain.
