Instate and top 2%? Sounds like in to me.

Being an in-state applicant, you seem on target for UVa. The only things I can think of that might make a difference are: leadership and dedication/continuity in some specific activities, areas of interest, etc. But, even if these things are lacking, I’d still say you’ve got a good chance.

i got rejected from BC. I have very similar stats, except the class % (but top 2% of my year would equate to a little over one person since I’m in a class of 80…the entire top 10% of my school will go to Ivy’s…plus the fact that my school doesnt actually provide class rank). I’m expecting (yet a bit more nervous now cause BC was my first rejection) to get in to UVA. I hope UVA appreciates my EC’s a bit more than BC did…BC’s supplement made me think that their decisions are mainly number based but whatever.

So pretty much if you get in, I will too (and vice versa). So good luck to us both. Oh yea I’m an instater too.

For what it’s worth, our in state daughter was waitlisted at both BC and U-Va last year, didn’t get off the BC waitlist, but did get into U-Va off the wait list in June.

oh phew. Thats a little bit more enlightening. :frowning: But i guess id rather get waitlisted than flat out rejected…
