Waitlisted at BU....Huge scholarship at NEU. Why?

@TomSrOfBoston‌,…Oh yes I do know each and every school on planet earth is unique in one way or the other…even when it comes to tuition…my point was just to say BU and NEU are colleges of the same if not nearly the same calibre when it comes to ranking and recognition… :)…I hope my point is clear…

Okay I googled it and the 2014 acceptance rate to BU was 34% and someone above said NEU was 33%. So it’s like the same but why are we arguing over a technicality?

First of all, there’s nothing wrong with feeling bad about this for a few weeks. You wanted to go to a particular college. That college rejected you (and, I will tell you, that I’m very surprised that they did). And now you’re going to another college. No need to get over it in 24 hours…I think it’s okay to feel a bit bruised by the whole journey…I would be.

That said, I’ve toured both schools and Northeastern has a better campus, a really intriguing co-op program, and very cool students. This is one of those things where the rejection doesn’t make sense…but it may be the best thing that ever happened to you…
