Waitlisted at Cal Poly SLO

I was waitlisted at SLO. Here are my stats:

CSU GPA- 3.50 (includes Community College Courses I took)
SAT- 1320/1600
Major: Materials Engineering
ECs: 6-10 hours per week of volunteering, and some work experience related to my major.
Accepted: UCR, UC Santa Cruz, St John’s University (21 k scholarship)
Rejected: UCSB, UC Davis, UC San Diego

I want to send the admissions committee a letter affirming that SLO is my top choice, and if offered admission, I will definitely accept.

Is this a good idea? Or should I just pursue other options.

^ sure, it’s a great idea. You ever hear the saying “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”? The other thing is there is no downside at all, so go ahead and communicate.

^thanks for the reply bud

i’m thinking if i tell them i’d enroll for sure, they’d take me off the waitlist

Hi there. I was waitlisted also. I know final freshman decisions dont come out until May 15th and final transfer decisions dont come out until July 15th, but I was just wondering if anyone on the waitlist has heard anything new?

Can you post the address and whom to address the letter to? I want to send a letter as well.

If, on the off-chance someone is accepted off the waitlist, does anyone know the chances of getting in the dorms?

There will be space in the dorms for freshman. Just call housing.
