Not to brag, but I was pretty shocked when I was waitlisted at CWRU (not surprised about WSU since it’s known to waitlist a lot of people). I was a pretty successful student (4.0 with lots of activities). Even today, I heard some of my friends got waitlisted at UC Davis and other schools. I feel as though some colleges are playing a waitlisting game. Any thoughts?
WSU at Saint Louis??? Do you mean WUStL?
yes, almost EVERY college plays this game. even ones very high up in the rankings.
For example, in my HS in the past princeton has waitlisted people who got into every other college in HYPSM.
I got waitlisted at CWRU but got a likely from Cornell (Ivy) just a short time before the waitlist. Don’t sweat it, good things will come.
In the case of colleges such as CWRU, I feel it’s yield protection; most (not all) students who would apply to WUSTL are probably using CWRU as a safety, and it shows. They’d rather admit “less qualified” applicants who will actually attend.
Washington University in St. Louis is not “WSU” (Washington State University? Um, that’s in Washington State…).
You should know the names of the colleges you’re trying to attend, at the very least. Come on, now.
