Hey guys, so I got waitlisted for UC Berkeley, and i decided to accept. I wrote the optional essay, but I’m debating whether or not to submit my fall grades for senior year. I did the opposite of taking it easy this last year and as a result I obtained a C in a college calculus class, which really affected my gpa. Now my question is if I would be better off not adding my grades?
Tough call but I think the C will hurt you more than help you especially at Berkeley.
Same thing happened to me. I got waitlisted and I don’t know if I should include my grades. I got a C in AP Physics C Mechanics but my essay is about my growth in this class so I’m not sure if it would hurt me or help me if I included my grade.
I also had a C in the first marking period in calc bc but I showed improvement in my next two marking periods. I think colleges would rather see your progress and improvement throughout the year than to see you hiding grades but I’m not sure. Just a thought
IMHO, not submitting looks like you are hiding something. FWIW, I would post it and explain it somehow.
@mrchief Yeah I ended up submitting my grades because my essay explains it and shows a lot of growth and reflection plus I have straight A’s now.
