I got waitlisted at UChicago, which was pretty surprising, because I thought I had no chance (And I didn't really try on my application because of it.... what was I thinking?! Don't give up before you try, people.). I wasn't really thinking and just immediately put, "Yes, I want to remain on the waitlist and would consider taking a voluntary gap year." I don't want to take a gap year, though!! You can submit a new form, but will it look bad that at first I said I would take a gap year and a few days later submitted a new form that said I will remain on the waitlist but don't want to take a gap year?

Also, what do I do? UChicago apparently encourages you to add more stuff to your app, but what stuff?! I read somewhere you can submit follow-up recs, but I also read that you shouldn't submit follow-up recs... what do I do?!

Thank you!
