I received that I was waitlisted to Uchicago last night for the class of 2022. Uchicago was my top school and most difficult to get into so in a way not being flat out denied is sorta nice. That being said, I would still love to go there but know that the chance of getting off the waitlist is microscopic (or even nonexistant some years). Still I’m curious as to how many students Uchicago actually offers a spot on the waitlist. Any other tips for student on a waitlist would also be appreciated.
I was waitlisted also. From what I hear, colleges like that only remove people from the waitlist for “diversity” purposes. For instance, if they need more tuba players or southerners, etc.
As I’m not on the admissions committee, I don’t know anything for sure, so take this with a grain of salt.
Anyways, congrats on the waitlist! CC had me sure that I would be flat out rejected with my stats!
I know what you mean reading stuff on here makes it seem lit to even be considered you would have to be a flawless student and in every extracurricular possible. I’m not excited about being waitlisted, but it is better than being denied I guess.
I was waitlisted too. I had below par stats, so I think it’s better than nothing. My grades dipped first semester for absolutely no reason, oh well.
