Waitlisted at Uconn

I’m a high school senior who just got waitlisted for the Storrs campus. Uconn is my dream school and my top school. I applied for environmental engineering and I have a very diversified application. I have:
4.2 GPA (w)
4.6 for my senior year
1300 SAT
28 ACT
Co-president of my orchestra class
Varsity letters in Track and Football
On robotics team and 2 clubs
I wrote my essay about my struggles with ADHD and how I overcame them
A recommendation from the head of the science department

I really want to get in from the waitlist but I’ve heard I can improve my chances by writing a letter for appeal. What should I write about and how much could this help me? Do I have a good chance to get in through waitlist? Any information is greatly appreciated

According to last years common data set, they waitlisted 3,386 applications. 1,780 accepted a spot on the list. 148 were enrolled off the list. This can vary from year to year based upon their yield.

Are you out of state? Your stats are pretty good and higher than some of my friends that I know got in, which I find very strange for you to end up waitlisted.
