Waitlisted at Umass

Hey guys,

I was wait listed at umass for some reason. anyway i wanted to know my options if i choose the spring semester enrollment. What would I do in the fall? Can i take classes at Umass? Or should i screw the wait list and enroll at NYU paying 55,000 a year?

Take some classes at a local community college. make sure that the credit for those courses can be applied towards UMass. or do some volunteer work,

I agree with Groton. Community college would be your best bet. Maybe you could fulfill your foreign language requirements in the fall, that’s no fun no matter where you take it. There really isn’t too much of a difference between starting in the fall or spring at a large school.

Depending on your major though, you might also want to consider taking classes that a freshman of the same major would take so that you can jump right back in without missing a beat. I would definitely double check to see that the credits will transfer. Good luck.

We are in MA, a couple of my S’s friends that were waitlisted are taking classes at a local UMASS for the fall then transferring for spring.

One thing is that spring admits are general admits, at least for the competitive programs - you still have to transfer in to things like Engineering.
