Does this mean I’m a strong candidate to get off the waitlist? or is it that im a weak applicant that UCB passed on me to these UCs?
bump
Confused - did you apply to UC Berkeley?
Got waitlisted at berkeley and got offers form ucsc and ucr, interested in this too. I know some people who got waitlisted and didn’t get offers from them though.
@JigglyPuffs123 and @Imfao89 are you both OOS or International applicants?
@lmfao89 @Gumbymom I found out what it was. It’s that we didn’t get into any of the UC’s we applied to so we were put on the “referral list.”
Also these schools do target OOS and International students since they have room based on caps implemented by the UC regents a few years ago. Best of luck.
@JigglyPuffs123 ahh okay so this should have no impact on our berkeley waitlist right? guy i know got waitlisted, got into no other ucs (did ucla) and got no offers from ucsc or ucr
@lmfao89 UC guarentees admission to at least one school if u are ELC, but since I am OOS, I just assume since my ACT is top 1% and GPA is high, I guess I count as ELC? Idk…what were ur friends stats?
@JigglyPuffs123 My friend and I are both international, I applied L&S and he did EECS (but i know another girl who did eecs and got offers from ucsc). I don’t know what his scores are, but I assume theyre high? Since he got put on the waitlist
@JigglyPuffs123: ELC is only for CA residents but as I stated in the above post, UCR/UCM/UCSC have targeted OOS and International students since they have room based on the UC Regent caps for OOS/International students. Schools like UCLA/UCB already had over 20% of their student population that are/were OOS and International so no room for growth for this student population.
UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UCLA and UC San Diego are capped at their 2017/2018 acceptance rates (all other UC campuses are 18%).
Hmmm honestly these offers probably mean nothing in terms of our waitlist at Berkeley
