Waitlisted by Barnard, Automatic Rejection From Columbia?

I was just waitlisted by Barnard. I applied to Columbia and now I can’t help but dread March 28th. I feel like if I can’t even get into Barnard, how would I have a chance at Columbia? Does anyone here know of a case where a student was rejected/waitlisted by Barnard but accepted at Columbia? Or any other information that may put me at ease for the next 5 days?

A little bit about me:

I’d like to think I’m a good student. I won’t get into my whole profile and I know GPA and ACT aren’t the only factors of an application but my GPA is a 97 unweighted and I have a 35 on my ACT (36 English, 35 Math, 35 Reading, 35 Science). I’m a member of multiple Honor Societies, received a prestigious award from my school as one of the top 10 GPAs in my class (not sure of my exact ranking, they don’t disclose), and I participate in many extra curricular activities as well as community service organizations. I took 7 AP courses and I am somewhat of an artist. I play the guitar as well. I also have stellar recommendations (and I was in a summer program at Columbia this past summer, so two recommendations are from there). That’s (academic) me in a tiny nutshell.

Let Columbia decide for Columbia. At least now we know that Barnard isn’t perfect–they make mistakes. Enjoy Columbia !

Were the Columbia professors’ recommendations valid for your application to Columbia as well as to Barnard ?

@Publisher yeah, it felt weird giving college guidance letters addressed from Columbia (they were originally sent to my house, I didn’t open them and brought them straight to school) and saying “can you send this to Columbia?”
