Hey, i was waitlisted by Brown and I was waiting for my decision like crazy. I dont know what my chances are or anything, but i thought it’d be a good idea to make a thread here, where ppl could put if they got accepted from the waitlist or were rejected.

I have nothing for now… Anyone out there who got waitlisted for the class of 2014, and heard from Brown yet?

I called the admissions office today. The provost has yet to inform the deans of how many openings there are for the class of 2014 (ie: how many people to take off the waitlist). There is a meeting however tomorrow during which they will be informed of availabilities and afterward I assume they will start discussing our fates. Good luck!

The adrenaline pumping
Gud luck to u 2…

any new news??? update me im waitlisted too

They said the volcanic ash cloud has kept some deposits, so they’re still seein who wants in and who doesnt (news from a cuple o days ago), and that our decisions will be with us around the 1st week of June, and no latr… Gud luck everyone, its tough but its still a chance…

That can’t be true. Brown has no deposit… Aside from that, matriculation is done on the internet…

Thats wot i was told when I called the offices up… Dunno the rest…

Well, simple experiment… has anyone gotten off the waitlist yet???

the class of 2014 is full. o well

I’d like to know how they’ll be answering back to inform us if we have been taken off the list or not
I know that i should know this, but i can’t seem to find any information that might tell me when Brown will have the decision of whether we’re out of the list or not and I don’t know how they’ll be informing us

From what I’ve heard, I believe they call you (or your school) first and then send you a letter with all the details and financial aid information.

DUDES - i called the admissions office, tey said theyr class of 2014 is full. call them yourselves and post when they tell you the same thing

I called the admissions office on 5/14 and the woman said they’d be letting students know of their waitlisted status by the end of May. She never said the class was full. Did you speak to a secretary or a regional admissions officer?

The class couldn’t have been full because I already know two people who have decided not to go to Brown.

@rajjanenitsirk - that doesn’t mean there are spots; Brown admits more students than they have spots for because historically, less than 60% of those offered spots accept them. If enough people go elsewhere, then they use the waitlist.

Is anyone on the waitlist hearing anything from the school yet?
If they do decided to contact you, is it by phone???

Interesting stat, wonder where you found it – not doubting it but am interested then in Brown’s ranking as something like the 5th most preferred college in the country. I wonder what Harvard or Yale or Princeton’s rates are? It could be, of course, that almost all those who choose not to come to Brown are going to one of the higher ranked non-rejection schools, which seems also possible given the usual suspects.
