I'm so confused and stressed! I really WANT to go to Stony Brook, but most of my peers use it as a "safety school." I have an 84 average at Stuyvesant HS, many extracurriculars, 2 recommendations, and very high SAT scores. I looked at the admission rates of certain GPAs, and I have been reassured over and over that I will definitely be accepted... Yet I got waitlisted! :( What happened? My optimism says perhaps since I applied for the Women in Science and Engineering program, but don't meet their 92 GPA requirement, I have been rejected from that, and still have to be reevaluated for the regular program? What's your experience/do you have any idea what this might mean/how likely it is that I will get in? Thank you in advance!

Ive been waitlisted too :(.

Stony Brook was my number one choice too and i thought for sure i was gonna get accepted… Only to find out i got wait listed :(

Stony Brook is a competitive school. Much more than people realize, particularly the WISE and Honors College. Don’t get mislead by the SUNY. But don’t get your head down! There’s other universities and even transfers [;)].

Btw kingzob, wiz and habron, what were all you GPA’s and SAT scores?
