I'm one of the few students who got waitlisted on a class.
What does it mean? Should I wait and see if I get in or not? What are the chances of me getting into this class?

The chances all depends on if the class is mandatory, how many people are in it, how difficult it is, etc.

It sounds like you already know what it means, but it’s pretty self-explanatory. If someone drops the class, the first person on the list gets the opportunity to take it.

You’ll have a good chance of getting in if you’re among the top on the waitinglist and it is a big class (capacity wise). If there’s like 30 students, you don’t have a good shot though.

I got waitlisted in two classes- English and Psychology. English has 15 people capacity and 5 people waiting. Psychology has 30 people capacity and 20 people waiting. What should I do? Sign up for other classes?

It is generally a bad idea to be on the waitlist for more than one class. Hopefully you are registered for other classes in their place in case you don’t get in.

What number out of those are you on the waitlist? The one with only 5 people waiting seems like you will have a better chance but from the looks of it you go to a small school so I could be wrong.

Also the way your school sets up registration can also determine if you will get in. Is registration still open and for how long? Are there periods after classes start that people can change their classes? Are people dropped if they don’t pay tuition on a certain day?

So really, we can’t tell you what your chance is without a ton more information, and even then it would be a guess since it depends on the people in the class who may or may not drop and the X number of people ahead of you in the list.
