What do you guys think of the chance of getting into a waitlisted class? I was at number 4 and now i'm at number 1. Think i'll get in?

most likely, but it depends on a lot of factors. go the first day and ask (beg/plead/grovel) the instructor if you can add the class.

Go to the first class. I am pretty sure you will get in, even if no one else drops it. (Though, of course it depends on the type of class you are talking about)

Agree, go to the first class and keep going! Most likely you will be in that first day or shortly after. Make a point of telling the prof that you are trying to get into the class so there is a name connection even if it’s a big lecture class.

Oh she knows I had her as my chinese history professor last semester.

My son is sitting on a course in case another course that he is signed up for gets canceled due to low enrollment. He will do a drop on the course when it is clear that the other course will run (an indicator of that is if the textbook shows up in the bookstore - the instructor hasn’t specified the textbook yet - the course looks like a last minute adjunct course). He needs the course that he signed up for but could take it in the summer or fall too. So hang in there on your waitlist.
