Waitlisted/Denied?

Let's all congregate!

Are you surprised/not surprised? Are you disappointed? Where are you planning on going to school instead?

Congrats to everyone who got in! :D

I got waitlisted and was seriously surprised by that decision.

Denied, kind of surprised. Expected a waitlist, given that most people who got waitlisted at WUSTL seem to have also been waitlisted or accepted at NU

Of course, my GPA is VERY low (3.4 UW) and NU places a lot of emphasis on high school GPA, i suppose

Other stuff

Accepted:
-USC
-Case Western
-Penn State

Waitlisted
-Washington in St Louis

Denied
-University of Chicago
-UNC

So far… its been like this…

Accepted:
American University
Emerson
NYU
Brandeis

Waitlisted:
Wellesley

Rejected:
Northwestern University

Now that I got rejected from northwestern, I don’t think there’s any way at all I could make into Yale…

Rejected and pretty surprised actually… Very disappointed, my other top choices look like high reaches now. Can someone give me some feedback? I’m the first post on page four of the RD decisions thread and my chance thread is on the board as Chance Chance Baby.

Good luck to everyone

Rejected - and kinda feel like crap.

But I got other schools that are waiting for me to enroll and a few more that might accept me. I really do like Northwestern. Ah…oh well.

Is it just me, or are schools getting increasingly arbitrary in the way they accept people? I don’t understand why Northwestern accepted some people in my school while rejecting others.

They are to a certain extent. I don’t think they take underqualified students much, but they do seem to toss aside a lot of qualified’s. Of course there are only so many spots but regardless…

YalieGirl… Don’t think that way. Northwestern is a top 20 school and so is Yale (obviously). All of these schools are very subjective. My eye doctor was accepted to Harvard, Yale, and Columbia, but rejected by Northwestern. Some schools see things in applicants that others don’t. Don’t give up hope!

I was waitlisted, and surprised that I even GOT waitlisted… Looking at these applicants, I pale in comparison. I think I’ll be going to Northeastern University anyhow. I was debating between these two, and for me, the only thing Northwestern held over it was its reputation. Kinda glad the decision has been made for me :)

Bobleman… I just took a look at your Chance Chance Baby post and I was rejected by Stanford EA too! Hooray. Your stats look great though, much better than mine.

Waitlisted… really disappointed because i didn’t think my stats were that bad… 4.0 and 2250 SAT/35 ACT… i’m trying to figure out where i screwed up
so far:
Accepted: USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCI, Case Western, Drexel
Waitlisted: Rice, Northwestern…

Go to USC!
Hotter girls than silly NU :p

Denied. Kinda surprised. Disappointed.

Accepted:
SLU
Brandeis
U of Arkansas
Benedictine
Truman

Still waiting on:
William and Mary
Notre Dame
Bucknell
Georgetown

Northwestern was my first choice…but I was waitlisted and I’m probably heading to University of Illinois. I don’t feel like I’m ‘settling’ though, although I liked Northwestern’s intangibles better, U of I still has the better computer engineering program, something I can’t ignore. I’m still curious though, how many people are going to wait on the waiting list? They painted the odds in the letter as pretty long.

Waitlisted… I expected an acceptance considering my friends who got in. I guess it truly is a crapshoot!! Oh well, most likely WashU '15 :)

but okay:) I was expecting it and didn’t really want to go anyway.

I think my rejection from Brown helped and prepared me.

waiting for my 6 other colleges kind of suck though…:/

I got waitlisted as well. It sucks, a lot. I was really hoping I got in. I’m probably going to enroll at Carleton and be on the waitlist for NU.

So far three waitlists in a row…

UChicago, Rice, Nortwestern

I have really lost hopes for Dartmouth and Brown now :frowning:
I guess I’ll be a WUSTL Class of 2015 too!

My daughter was accepted at Rice, where I attended and quite involved. Also USC, Pitt, UT and Case.
WL: U Chi, Northwestern
Pending: Brown, Cornell and Columbia.
Congratulations on your acceptance to WUSTL. Everyone else is waitlisted. I heard the grading is tough.

Anyone with the statistics on how many accepted off the waitlist?

Waitlisted. I was prepared for rejection so I’m not upset. (: Now I’m still waiting for all of my other decisions, gah.

I got waitlisted, but my Northwestern Statement was honestly the worst thing I’ve ever written, and I never had any real interest in or desire to go to NU, so I’m not fazed at all… I don’t think that I’ll be staying on the waitlist.
