Waitlisted. Did you hear anything?

Did waitlisters hear anything yet?
Someone told me they are done with accepting people from the waitlist. =(

Did they even go to the wait list?

someone lied… they have not gone to the waiting list yet

Am I crazy or is Cornell the only Ivy that has not had any wait list activity? Does anyone have any definitive info?

Cornell itself (lol, I like how refer to them as some singular overlordish entity) has stated that …‘it’…‘we’…(This explains my SAT Verbal, ha…) doesn’t know if the waitlist (overall waitlist, not specific colleges) will even be used!

All we can do is wait.

[off the cuff, likely poorly written speculation]

If Harvard goes to its waitlist, if Yale goes to its waitlist, if Dartmouth/UPenn/Princeton/Columbia/Brown go to their waitlists(which, I think I read from you COLMOM - is that Colorado Mom?- Dartmouth has)…

There should be at least a few accepts, (and not just Cornell waitlisters) that choose to go somewhere else who slightly tip over the rate Cornell is expecting (the Sun says they accepted about 6000 in expecting a 3,150 class…so if they really think that many people will turn them down - perhpas the other schools’ waitlists could effect an underenrollment Cornell hasn’t adjusted for. 'Cause like, if they predicted yield perfectly, they would never over admit to stave off a potential overenrollment.

[/speculation]

^Its for College Mom. As I can best glean from all the threads, Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, Princeton and Penn all went to their wait lists already. Columbia let people off and has an extended wait list. Yale stated they would have no activity until mid June. Cornell seems to be the only one that hasn’t had any activity or notifications of any kind. Again, just from what I have seen on the threads. Nothing concrete.

Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, Princeton, AND Penn?!?!

Oh no…

Yale has notoriously few spots in the RCs for transfers who are admitted…and mid June is (for NYU) pushing the date to cancel housing committments…
If Cornell has said nothing…

It seems to me Yale/Cornell are going to be sending some more bad news.
Maybe Cornell will offer GTs?

I believe Cornell has already offered its GTs to select waitlisted students…

Then it’s unlikely many more will get in at all.
Oh well.

I understand that the GT letters went out with the wait list letters.

my guidance counselor told me yesterday that his sources say Cornell will update wait listers by June 15th. Can’t say if that will definitely happen, but it’s certainly been a long time since those initial wait list letters were mailed out.

Eh, then it’s probably us being rejected.
I heard June 15th as the last day Dartmouth kept their waitlist open.

Now that the 15th has almost come and gone, has anyone heard anything about the wait list?

No word yet on waitlist here.

No, haven’t heard anything here yet either. You would think there would have been at least an email at this point. What is going on?

Haven’t heard anything for my daughter. I even asked the status of the waitlist on the admission blog way back on May 22nd and it still says question is awaiting moderation.

My friend just got in to Princeton today off their wait list, and will now cancel enrollment at Brown to attend. Still find it very strange that Cornell has not sent out so much as an email to their waitlisters.

Received letter today saying off waitlist, no spaces available for Fall 2009 and sent the “special transfer” for Fall 2010 contract. Very little information in letter i.e. did ANYONE get in off the waitlist? (Hotel)

Check out the other “wait list” thread; I believe someone there posted that he/she had called Cornell and was told the hotel school was filled and would not go to wait list at all. So in all likelihood, the answer to your question is “no.”

daughter got an e-mail from AEM today offering her a transfer option for Fall 2010. It never said whether they had accepted anyone from the waitlist, but I was given the impression that they didn’t. Has anyone else heard anything.
