I’m a design/tech student and I’ve been waitlisted at my top choices: CMU, Fordham, and Pace. I understand that these are all compliments to my ability but it definitely sucks where making a decision is concerned. I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with these waitlists or any recommendations on what I should be doing in the meantime. I’ve sent additions to my resume to Carnegie but my Fordham admissions counselor hasn’t answered my emails. I’m lost at this point and if anyone has any advice I’d appreciate it.
I don’t know specifically for design/tech, but for Acting & MT if you are waitlisted, it’s specific to the department and not the school as a whole. If that is the case for you, it’s always a good idea to contact the head of the department, not just an admissions person, and let them know they are your top choice and if you come off the waitlist you will accept an offer.
You might want to post on this thread that is specific to tech:

Hoping you come off of one of your waitlists!
Are you truly wait listed at all schools or only your top choices. Do you have an acceptance to somewhere for the fall? If not, you might want to focus on schools that are still accepting applications. This board can help if you need suggestions.
@gallentjill sorry I wasn’t more clear! I’ve been accepted to a couple schools (Emerson, MMC, UNH) it just definitely feels like everywhere lol.
@MTmom2017 That’s really hepful. I’ve reached out to each school but I’ll make it more clear to them that they are among my top choices! I’ll definitely check out that thread!
@elenadel I’m glad to hear that you have some choices while you wait for the wait lists. I don’t know about the others, but Emerson is wonderful! Make sure you put down a deposit somewhere before the due date, in case the others don’t work out. Good luck!
@gallentjill Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
