Just wondering, is there any way I would be able to do a semester at a different college and transfer into the pre-medical program at Holy Cross, it was my first choice and I'm kinda bummed about the wait list. It also said something about having to pay full tuition if I am accepted into the college from the wait list, because that is how it has been for the past few years? Ah!

Holy Cross only accepts transfers after they have been at their home college a year. Also, since the pre-medical program is so hard to get into, even if you do your first year at the HC, the chances for a transfer would be even less.

Honestly, as much as I think the world of Holy Cross, they are not worth paying the full $200,000 when you could go to a slightly lower ranked college for loads less.

Best of luck!

I was accepted but not into the Pre Health Program. 32 ACT 750 Math SAT, 5 AP bio, 5 AP Bio, 720 SAT II Math, 700 SAT II Math. I will attend Boston College as a biochem. major. I will not spend 200K and not receive my intended major. What are you options?

ben, pre-med is not a major. It is my understanding that although areardonx did not get into the pre-med designation he/she can apply the following year. If grades are tops there should be little problem as a number of pre-med students drop out. Does everyone agree?

Yes that is my understanding. That is the way it was when I went there in the dark ages.

Transferring is not really a great idea. Transfer students often have to make up work and take more than 4 years to graduate and they miss out on the important bonding that takes place in the first year. They arrive on campus out of sync with everyone else and usually never quite feel as if they fit in. Spend your time considering your other options and getting excited about going somewhere you could see yourself for 4 years.
