Anyone waitlisted for NYU
No one from the current cycle has been waitlisted yet from NYU. Students who applied ED1 were either accepted (offered admission), rejected (denied admission), or deferred. Students who were deferred will either be accepted, rejected, or waitlisted once RD decisions are released. To be deferred and then waitlisted is special kind of torture. lol
@GhostOfBanquo that is incorrect. Both last year and this year, people have been waitlisted directly from ED1. It was a new addition to the possible outcomes since last year.
@SJ2727 - Has NYU replaced deferrals with waitlisting, or is waitlisting now an additional option? This is the first I’ve heard of going directly from ED to a waitlist.
My daughter applied ED and was waitlisted. This is her dream school. Wondering if she will be accepted
Do you know how many they might admit from the waitlist?
@GhostOfBanquo , they are using both. Technically the deferrals will be considered with the RD pool, and the waitlist all the way to May with the RD waitlist pool, but one of the WL guys from last year posted here that he (I think it was a he) came off the waitlist in March when RD decisions came out, and that others WL’d from ED did too. So tbh it’s all a little confusing imo.
Thanks I hope she will be admitted.
Applied RD…got waitlisted
Hope for the best!
