<p>I'm waitlisted for Macroeconomics and I'm the second person on the waitlist. How should I approach the professor on the first day? Should I ask him if I can be added to the class before I walk in? Or after? What happens if he can't add me? Do I just leave the classroom?</p>
<p>I would just wait and ask after class. Explain your situation politely, ask if maybe they can add you, what are your chances of getting in, etc.</p>
<p>Keep in mind that even if they can’t add you directly, there’s a good chance you can still get in as other students drop, so you should keep attending until you’re either sure you don’t have a spot or you find other schedule plans.</p>
