Waitlisted for Bio 1B, what are the chances I'll get in?

I'm waitlisted number 5 in the lecture and I think either 1 or 2 in my lab section... what are the chances I'll get in? Who do I contact to ask for a good estimation of my chances? Also, should I still purchase the book and bring something to the lab next week even if I'm not enrolled?

Any help would be appreciated!

hold off on the book. you really wont need it immediately anyway. you might get lucky but once people are in that class, i dont think they drop it that easily. just keep going to lab and discussion anyway.

Tricky sticky situation…Chances are not bad but not good. Chances are medium.

That doesn’t get you anywhere does it? :D

Lol, yeah I figured as much, seeing as anyone who takes Bio most likely needs it towards their major… I just wanted a second opinion.

Is there any chance that the GSI would make an exception for me and allow me to join the lab/discussion section if I just happened to be number 1 on the waitlist?

i’m a ugsi for bio 1b, and there is already an excess of students (>20) in a lot of sections. At the GSI meeting, Mike Moser told the gsi’s not to let anybody stay who is not enrolled, no exceptions.

Mhmm… what do you all suggest I do if I don’t get in? What other classes can I take?
