Waitlisted for Buffalo?

I just found out today that I was waitlisted for Buffalo. I applied to the Business Administration program. Here are my stats:
~85 average
1710 on SAT's (M:630 V:510 W:570)
Varsity Golf Team Captain
Varsity Wrestling Team
A good number of extra-circular activities.
Essay was pretty good, based on other people's opinions.
Most of my classes were honors classes

I'm not sure what happened because I was really anticipating to go to Buffalo, I thought I would be able to get in.

Anyway does anybody know what are the chances of me getting accepted from the waitlist?

Should I write a letter of appeal?

Thanks,
Arthur.

Arthur,
if you look at the common set data, info used to compare universities, Fall 2007- 727 offered place on waiting list, 344 accepted a place, 80 admitted off the waiting list. To see the rest of the info, go to the Suny Buffalo site and search for common set data.

Also, it couldn't hurt to write a letter stating your sincere desire to attend. Also, calling to speak to an admissions rep would be good too. They do keep track of all correspondence, so even an email maybe.

maybe the class was filled when they lookedat your application?
