Waitlisted for Calculus class

I am 4/7 for the M 408M waitlist. What is the chance of me and my friend(who is 5/7) to get in the class?

I’ve heard stories about people being 11th on the waitlist and talking to the professor and then getting into the class, while people are 1st on the waitlist and still not getting in for weeks.

There’s a pretty decent chance that both of you will get in. You should be aware that you can be on 2 waitlists for the same class at the same time. I’d try to get on another one just to be sure.

Most of the waitlist movement occurs during add/drop and the first couple weeks of class. Calculus is a class that will likely have people drop after the first few homework assignments have been assigned. It’s always nerve-wracking to be on a waitlist, but they typically move through.

Good luck!

Same boat. I’m 1st and 2nd on two sections for 408M. Assuming no change before school starts, can we “audit” the class for the first couple of days in expectation of getting off the waitlist?

If you’re first or second already, then you’ll probably get in before the semester starts. If not, it’s perfectly acceptable and normal to audit a class until you get in, even if that means a couple weeks. Heck, some people audit a class for an entire semester without ever asking.
