Waitlisted for computer science major UCSD/UCSB/UCD

Hi,

My son got waitlisted for computer science major in UCSD, UCSB and UCD, accepted in UCR and UCM, still waiting to hear from UCI and UCSC. What are his chances of getting accepted in UCSD or UCSB from the waitlist data from past years?

His stats are -
SAT : 1460
CSU GPA 4.00
CA resident.

His chances will be dependent upon how many accepted students enroll by May 1 which can vary from year to year.

Waitlist Offers: 8,863
Waitlist Opt-Ins: 5,865
Waitlist Admits: 604

Waitlist data for UCSD 2019:
Waitlist Offers: 20,000
Waitlist Admits: 4,300

No guarantees if admitted off the waitlist, that he will get CS as his major.

I also got waitlisted as a computer science major at UCSD with very similar stats (UC GPA is just slightly higher). Also had an internship in computer science. I was rejected from UCSB, UCLA, UCB (and some other non UC colleges). I did get an acceptance from UCSC, and UCR with honors in the very beginning of March. I SIR’ed to UCSC and plan on accepting UCSD if I get an offer off the waitlist under my major.
