Waitlisted for Engineering

A week ago I was waitlisted for the engineering school at Northwestern and I was really devastated as it was my top choice. I was wondering how many people on average are waitlisted for engineering at Northwestern and if I have a chance at getting accepted? Is there anything I can do that might increase my chance at getting accepted?

I don’t want to discourage you but waitlists are unpredictable and some years they don’t take anyone. You really need to look at your other options and get excited about another school. That said, send a letter to admissions reinforcing your interest and that if you were to be taken off the waitlist that you would attend. Believe me, there are MANY schools where you can be successful and have a wonderful experience. No school has a monopoly on this.
