Waitlisted for Housing??

So I just recently found out I can afford UF, and I really want to go, but my parents said I HAVE to live on campus my freshman year. I applied for housing back in Feb (paid the $25 fee), but I guess I missed some signing date or something (again, didn't think I could attend because of $$) so now I'm on the April waitlist. I need to pick a college soon, obviously, but I really need to know my chances on getting freshman housing. If the chances aren't good, I need to look into other options. I'm not 100% positive how UF housing works, so any advice would be very helpful! Thanks so much!!

Why don’t you ask UF Housing directly? Call them, explain the situation and get their professional opinion.

My opinion – housing appears to be very tight. They seem to be adding a few spots to the list of available rooms each day, but there are still many people who haven’t selected housing yet. They do guarantee housing to anyone with a housing contract, but you would have had to pay the $200 housing contract fee a while ago.
