Hey guys,
just wondering, does anyone know how many people are usually waitlisted for SEAS?

in another thread someone posted for 2005, 2435 together and 2017 were from cc....so im assuming subtract that and its like 418ish...but they said only 290 accepted the offer and like 20 were given spots....but who knows.
i was waitlisted too...the odds are horrible sadly..but good luck

also, last year, 15 people from my school were accepted to SEAS regular and 5 from ED, and this year 1 person was accepted regular, 2ish were accepted early, and 2 more were waitlisted (from what i know so far). ... is there a chance that columbia would come back to the waitlist and say, hey, where'd all those (insert school name) kids go and whatnot?

my physics teacher said he read an email saying there are around 50 kids waitlisted this year to SEAS. The admissions guy i called said the estimate for all schools is 700-1000 so iono

No school would waitlist a mere 50 people; your physics teacher is totally wrong.

Iono tho SEAS had around 3200 applicants this year in comparison to the colleges 18000. If there were around 700 waitlistees in total, I would say around 100 would be for SEAS. Still, obviously you would know more since you go there and have been on this site longer, so I'm still just speculating. I know you meant no disrespect to my teacher but he is literally one of the best in the nation. (Doctor)

He's wrong; unless he's an alum or has insider info, I'm not sure what he could possibly have read.

The #'s from prior years are indicative here.

i'm glad your teacher is a doctor, but that really has no bearing on whether he's correct about admissions statistics. that you would assume him to be an expert just because he's "one of the best teachers in the nation" and/or a "doctor" makes me question whether you have the good sense required to attend columbia in the first place. his "stats" don't even pass the smell test.

Brilliant. Moreover, on what basis does he have to say that his "doctor" teacher" is "literally one of the best in the nation"?

Wow guys is the Ivy league arrogance stereotype really true then? You are correct that i simply stated that he's a doctor to defend my favorite teacher's statement, but then you questioned my worthiness of attending Columbia. I can easily play the arrogant game and say it was much more than affirmative action why I'm even still on this website; I can even go as far as challenging Denzera's reason for applying to Columbia as nothing more than wanting money. However, I'm a friendly guy, I won't do that. I'll just say that the fact that you got in has no indication as to "who's smarter."

Oh, and he's the best cuz he brings in Munchkins on Fridays and made a ping pong table out of three lab desks and an air track machine. Top that.

your PM to me notwithstanding, BT, you're sounding ridiculous and immature. just drop it.

Huh? None of these have anything to do with your inability to see why your teacher's stat is wholly incredible and why he has little basis to make up such stats.

yea, I already apologized personally for that, but of course that was at the time directed to Denzera. I guess we will find out in about a month or so.

pwned. (10 char)

yea I pretty much just realized they're both grads, making me beyond frosh/noob status. Ah, well, 1 month or so til my decision...

What will we find out in a month or so? That your teacher's stats are wrong. We know they're wrong today.

Dude I'm talking about my waitlist decision. I already got triple pwned no need to add another burger to the BK Stacker jeez

ok, that was funny.

Yea I tried to rekindle the loose ties known as forum friendship. But word up tho one month...I honestly think I have a good (25-50%) chance simply because I could be recruited to balance the campus with running, playing and making music, networking cough hacking, breakdancing, or by a long shot, academics. (Somehow I know zera and '02 are gonna exceed the stacker limit after this)
