Hi, I know there are a couple of waitlist topics already, but I didn't find the answer I was looking for. I'm currently first on the waitlist for one of the discussions for sociology 1 (Jepson), and I was wondering if it's likely that i'll get in. I know that someone in my discussion specifically has to drop the class for me to get in, and that seems highly unlikely in my opinion since it's only 20? people per discussion. Any experience or input? Thanks!

It’s hard to say with things like that. It depends on so many factors. Personally, I’d stick with it. It also depends on the section your waitlisted for. If Professor Anderson was teaching, I’d tell you almost for sure you’d get in. She assigns homework on the first day to weed people out. Personally, I’d keep it. Worst case, go to class on the first day and plead your case. You might get lucky if no one drops and get in that way. What do you need it for? And do you have 12 units not counting it? And, to be honest, I think it’d be pretty easy to find a replacement class if you, for whatever reason, didn’t get it. I got into A&O 1 Monday of Week 3. (Everyone on the wl gets drop and someone happened to drop that morning so I got lucky haha). But I’ve also had to do schedule maintenance week 1 some quarters. So I say your chances are good, keep it, and even worst case scenario it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Just have a plan for what you want to do if you don’t get it.
