I applied to the Brandeis fly-in(visit program for low-income kids) and was accepted last semester; and was flown out to Brandeis(expenses paid). I loved Brandeis, but and I made diligent efforts to talk to as many admissions reps and faculty as I could. I had a slightly rough experience(host who told me that she/he was too tired to do anything and to explore on my own, and then who ditched me in his/her dorm for a good part of the trip/ getting stuck in Boston overnight because my plane back was canceled). But regardless, I really loved Brandeis as an institution.

My GPA/ACT are slightly below their average, but I have extremely strong extracurriculars(I believe).

But then last night I learned that I was wait-listed! My GPA has gone up, I’ve been staying engaged with volunteer work.

What are my hopes for getting off the wait-list? I did the wait-list reply and explained my continued interest, and updated them on my academics and the changes in extracurriculars I’ve been doing(change in activity, not amount).

Please advise!
